Just Thinking Visually
Based in Sydney, Brad Eastman is no stranger to lying in the gutter just to get that perfect shot. Whether his friends like it or not, he can be found snapping shots of them skating regardless of the time, place, or awkward angle. This love of photography also extends to his macro work, proving his talent across varied subjects. As if this wasn't enough, he also is the founder of the much respected website weAREtheIMAGEmakers, releasing issues to promote creative individuals.

Hauntingly Familiar
Art, more so than most creative pursuits, can derive inspiration directly from certain time periods and movements. It can evoke emotions as well as reveal personal truths about the artist. The dark and surreal world that is Elbereth Moore's art is at once enticing and deep, yet with undertones and a quality that suggest the final pieces not only reflect a quality to work that is hard to match, but also an emotional base from the artist that can equal that quality.

Individual Perception
At 26 years of age you wouldn’t expect Kristyna Hessova to be as skilled in the creative arts as she is. An ex-pat from the Czech Republic, Kristyna is a highly experienced stage actress- she has worked in many cities throughout Europe, even having shows written for her. Add to this her skill as a photographer and a model and you have an impressive creative package.

Whilst usually behind the lense, our resident photographer Jim stepped up and got to have a chat with Kristyna.

Stop Thinking, Start Feeling
Kris Baum is one of those photographers that makes people look at their work and say ‘Damn, I wish I could do that.’ Baum takes a range of subjects and captures them perfectly - from people to structures, from events to artistic shots. His work is of the highest quality, and his dedication to his chosen medium shines through in the diversity of subjects and locations used in his work.

Simon, our dedicate writer, caught up with Kris to chat about his unique style, and find out just how drinking in excess could have started him down this road.

Tiki Bar

Flavour is the name of the game at Tiki- a little 1930s, 40s and 50s flavour, to be precise...more »

Owners David and Dianne have taken their experience in dancing and cabaret and turned their studio into one of Melbourne’s best kept lounge secrets. The cocktail list demands hours of your time, fully stocked with some of the best-known classics and some that will take you by surprise.

The staff at Tiki have a passion for a good drink and your tastebuds will get down on your knees and thank you with tears in their eyes. Rum is a staple, and you haven’t lived until you’ve knocked back a Zombie (be warned- in this case, you are what you drink).

Thursday nights are Tiki movie night and a great excuse to get your Salsa going, alternate Fridays are when the forbidden dances get swinging, and on Saturday nights Tiki lets its hair down with a packed dancefloor and live cabaret.

Required wear for entry is a sense of adventure and dancing shoes. « less
